I work with economics and policy for a purpose. As an economist, I’ve worked at a senior and strategic level to improve markets and regulations so that they create value for consumers and society. I’ve led on the design and delivery of regulatory incentives, reform of economic frameworks, and on consumer and competition policy.
I’ve led teams and networks, built partnerships, and communicated with impact — delivering results and making change.

I’m also a co-operator — championing democratic and ethical businesses having a greater role in society:
- As part of Co-operatives West Midlands, the regional body for member-owned businesses, I founded the Save Birmingham campaign to protect community places and promote co-operative solutions.
- I’ve been a trustee of Plunkett UK, which supports rural communities to set up community-owned businesses – such as shops, pubs and clubs – since September 2023.
- I’m a former Vice President of the Co-op’s Members’ Council, the national body for members in the UK’s largest consumer co-operative, serving as a Council Member from 2018 to 2023. I was responsible for member value, business performance and effective governance – and was a director of Co-operatives UK.
I have previously volunteered and worked in politics, including in campaign organising and policy development.
While studying economics at the University of Birmingham I was a trustee for the student union for more than 30,000 students, the University of Birmingham Guild of Students.
