I am a Birmingham-based economist, working with economics to develop policy for the benefit of society. In my current role I have worked on regulatory policy, monopoly price controls, market reviews and corporate governance reform.
I am also a co-operator. This means I support democratic and ethical businesses having a greater role in the economy. I am a Council Member at the Co-op Group, representing more than 4 million members in the governance structures of the UK’s largest consumer co-operative. I am also an active member of the Midcounties Co-operative and the Co-operative Party.
I have volunteered and worked in politics, including as a campaign organiser and policy researcher. I have led on local and regional selections and decisions as a member of Labour’s West Midlands regional board since 2013. I was on Labour’s National Policy Forum and Economic Policy Commission from 2015 to 2018.
I studied economics at the University of Birmingham. I have previously been a charity trustee and school governor, and worked in stakeholder relations for a charity.
I am also an occasional web developer, mainly focusing on data visualisations — see some projects I have worked on.
